If you have a qualification in South Africa in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work or another Health and Social Care qualification, we would love to hear from you. In Ireland, you will have the option to seek to have your South African qualification recognised.

You never pay us anything
CarePath Sourcing does not charge candidates a fee at any stage of this process — for the interview, the paperwork, or the placement itself. This is a legal requirement under the Employment Agency Act 1971 (Ireland), and it's how we operate regardless.
We tell you the truth about timelines
Moving to Ireland for work takes time — typically four to six months from a successful interview to your start date, because of the work permit and visa process. We will give you realistic timelines once you have a job offer.

Structured interviews take place at different locations across South Africa. Our team travels over from Ireland every 12–16 weeks to meet candidates face to face.

What happens, step by step
Here's the path from first contact to your first shift in Ireland.
You get in touch or we find you
Contact us through the contact page, tell us briefly about your qualifications and experience. If we have suitable vacancies for your skills, we will send you an application form.
You complete our application form
We'll ask you to fill in our application form and send it back to us — this covers your qualifications, work experience and references and other relevant information, and helps us decide whether to invite you to interview. We only accept applications on our application form.
Your in-person interview
Structured interviews take place at different locations across South Africa — our team travels over from Ireland every 12–16 weeks to meet candidates. You will be interviewed by two professionals, one of whom is an experienced HCA or Social Care Worker, and this is your chance to ask us questions too.
Verifying your credentials
We check your qualifications, references, SAPS police clearance, ID and driver's licence directly on the day. If you already have a current passport, bring it with you to your interview.
You're shortlisted
If your qualification and experience matches a vacancy or vacancies on our system, your details are forwarded to the panel of employers.
A possible video call
Some employers like to meet shortlisted candidates by video call before making a final decision. Hiring decisions are always made by the prospective employer.
Offer & acceptance
If you're chosen, a contract is signed directly between you and your new employer.
Employment permit application
Your employer submits a General Employment Permit application to DETE (Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Ireland) on your behalf. This is the part of the process that takes the most time.
Visa & getting ready to travel
Once your permit is approved, you'll need to apply for your visa in South Africa before you travel. Garda vetting is arranged as part of your onboarding. We'll send you an orientation pack with everything else you'll need to know before you go.
Arrival in Ireland
We will support you with advice on public transport options before you arrive. Some employers arrange an airport transfer from Dublin Airport. Then your life in Ireland starts!
